The Emery/Weiner School utilizes the latest technologies to enrich the learning experience of all students. Technology is integrated into the school’s curriculum across classes and grade levels.
Technology (Laptop/Device) use in class is permitted only under the supervision of a faculty member and left to the teacher’s discretion. If technology becomes a distraction or if the teacher thinks the use is not necessary for that lesson, a teacher may direct students not to use their laptop/device in class.
You have two choices when choosing your device for our B.Y.O.D. program:
Any popular brand laptop with the Microsoft operating system. These laptops allow the added ability for installation of the Microsoft 365 Suite among other programs.
The MacBook is the most popular student laptop on campus. Students love the Apple Apps including iMovie and the interaction with their iPhones.
Please note that an added Emery benefit is the ability to access/download the full Microsoft Office Suite without cost (Mac or PC). You will be able to install this software onto 5 separate machines with the student’s EWS account.
