Blake Glauben, Emery Class of 2012, was an All-District baseball performer for the Jags and one of the best baseball players in TAPPS 4-4A. Last spring he decided to continue his baseball career at NCAA Division III Rhodes College. As a freshman, he has established himself on the team as the number two weekend starter in the pitching rotation.
Brooke Kantor, Emery Class of 2011 and former player on the varsity softball team, took up a new sport her freshman year in college. Playing in her sophomore season for Harvard University, Brooke helped lead her team to an 8th Place finish at the National 7s Rugby Tournament held at College Station this past December.
Jeremy Sutton, Emery Class of 2010, was a driving force in bringing baseball to Emery in 2008. He was team captain for the varsity team his junior and senior season. Recently, Jeremy was in town on winter break and stopped over to lend the Jags a hand as we were preparing for the upcoming baseball season. We had an opportunity to interview Jeremy about his experience playing baseball at McGill University in Canada and his upcoming semester abroad in Australia where he will play for the Weston Creek Indians Club Team.
Ria Gerger, Emery Class of 2012, is arguably one of the most decorated tennis players in Emery history. She was a four-year member of the Tennis Team at Emery. Her sophomore year, Ria helped lead the Lady Jaguars to the TAPPS 4-4A District Title with a 1st Place Singles Championship. She was the team's Most Valuable Player her sophomore, junior and senior seasons, as well as the Team Captain her last two years.
Ryan Brown, Emery Class of 2011, recently completed his first semester as a member of the football team at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. We had an opportunity to interview Ryan about his experience as a collegiate student-athlete.
