Job Summary:
The Emery/Weiner School is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic faculty team. The Teacher Assistant will work closely with the Grade Level Teachers to provide instructional support and contribute to a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment. This role involves working with students in a variety of subjects, assisting with lesson delivery, supporting individual student needs, and fostering an atmosphere of academic excellence.
A strong candidate will be passionate about supporting students' academic and personal growth and will thrive in a team-oriented, student-centered school environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, organizational ability, and a strong desire to engage with and support students at all levels.
Responsibilities: - Assist the Grade Level Teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly in areas where additional instruction is needed.
- Help create a positive, welcoming classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Support classroom management and assist with behavioral interventions as needed.
- Help prepare instructional materials, resources, and classroom displays.
- Work collaboratively with the Grade Level Teachers to assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Assist with grading assignments, projects, and tests, as directed by the Grade Level Teachers.
- Provide individualized support for students with learning differences or other special needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, always maintaining professionalism.
- Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions as part of ongoing growth and development.
- Support extracurricular activities, field trips, and other school events as needed.
- Contribute to the overall positive culture of the school by engaging in student life activities.
Required Qualifications:- College hours and/or a bachelor’s degree (in education or a related field preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience working with children or in an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Patience, flexibility, and a strong commitment to student success.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- A genuine passion for working with young learners and contributing to their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
